Foodr
Pantry & food sharing

Never throw away food you forgot about.

Foodr scans your groceries, tracks every expiration date, and nudges you before anything spoils. When there is too much to eat, it helps you pass the rest on to a neighbor who wants it.

One pantry for the house

Everyone shares the same lists, reminders and shopping.

Sound familiar?

Good food, gone to waste

Most household food waste is not about throwing food away on purpose. It is about forgetting what is in the fridge, buying the same thing twice, and only noticing the problem when it smells.

  • You bought yogurt on Monday. You found it expired three weeks later.
  • Someone in the house bought the milk you already had in the fridge.
  • You binned a bag of vegetables that a neighbor would have loved.
What Foodr does

Everything between the shop and the bin

One app for what you already own, what is about to go off, and what you cannot possibly finish.

Scanning

Scan anything in seconds

Point your camera at a product. Foodr reads the barcode and the printed expiration date on the spot — no typing, no searching, no guessing.

  • Barcode scanner with instant product lookup
  • Expiration scanner that reads the date off the pack
  • Receipt scanner that adds a whole shopping trip at once

Expiration tracking

Know what is expiring before it expires

Every item lands in your pantry with its real date. The dashboard shows what is fresh, what is about to go, and what you should eat first — and reminds you before anything turns.

  • Fresh Pantry dashboard with a day-by-day expiry strip
  • Reminders before an item goes off
  • Own categories and smart filters for the way you shop

Roger, your AI food assistant

Ask your pantry what to cook

Ask in plain language. Roger works from what you actually have, not from a recipe website — and he can run entirely on your own device.

  • "What can I cook with what I have?" answered from your real pantry
  • Shopping lists that spot duplicates and missing essentials
  • Remembers your dietary preferences

Neighborhood sharing

Give away what you cannot eat

Post the food you have too much of, set a pickup time, and let a neighbor claim it. No money, no fuss — just food moved before it goes off.

  • Offers appear on a map of your area
  • Requests, approvals and pickup times in one thread
  • Chat directly with the neighbor picking it up

How it works

Three steps, then it runs itself

Scan it

Point your camera at a product, a printed date, or a whole receipt. Foodr does the typing for you.

Track it

Every item gets its real expiration date, and Foodr reminds you before it is a problem — not after.

Use it or share it

Cook it with Roger's help, add it to the household list, or post it on the map for a neighbor.

On-device AI

Roger lives on your phone

Most food apps send your pantry to a server to answer a question. Foodr can download a small language model to your device once, and then Roger answers entirely offline — in your kitchen, on a train, anywhere.

  • Full offline mode after a one-time model download
  • Works from your actual pantry, not a generic recipe list
  • A nightly digest of what to cook next
  • Cloud model available whenever you are connected

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

What is Foodr?

Foodr is a pantry management and food sharing app for Android. Scan the products you buy, track their expiration dates with reminders, plan meals and shopping with the on-device AI assistant Roger, share one pantry with your household, and give away surplus food to neighbors through the in-app map.

How does the barcode and expiration scanner work?

Point your camera at a product and Foodr reads the barcode and the printed expiration date automatically — no typing. There is also a receipt scanner: take a photo of a shopping receipt and Foodr pulls out the items and adds them to your pantry in one go.

Does Roger, the AI assistant, work without an internet connection?

Yes. Roger's local AI model can be downloaded once to your device, after which the assistant works fully offline. You can also use the cloud model when you are connected.

How does sharing food with neighbors work?

Post an item you cannot use, add a photo, and set pickup times. Neighbors see it on the map and can request it. You approve the request, chat, and hand the food over. No money changes hands.

Can my family use the same pantry?

Yes. Create a house, invite members with a link, and share the pantry, shopping lists and expiration reminders with everyone in the household.

What information does Foodr collect?

When you create an account Foodr collects your name, email address, profile picture and house address. It also collects the content you post, basic usage and device information, and analytics data used to improve the app. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Is Foodr available for iPhone?

Foodr is currently available on Android via Google Play.
